Bill Lalin

Tennis Director

Bill Lalin came to Tyler Hill camp in 1986, along with his wife Carol and 2 children, Stacy and Matthew. Bill took over the Girl's Tennis program and remained a mainstay on girl's campus until 1992. During the summer of 92, Bill joined Steve Frank as co-boys head counselors for one summer. This was the start of moving the camp to a co-ed environment, when Bill took over the Boys and Girl's tennis program in 1993.

With a key staff by his side, Bill created a tennis program that allowed for instruction and game play for all ages. Bill would schedule a different lesson each session that would build on the previous instruction, to allow the campers to skillfully progress in honing their skills over the course of the summer. Under Bill's watchful eye, having a talented and personable staff helps bring the instruction down to a 4:1 ratio for the larger groups. Bill's caring and respectful personality has encouraged many former campers to work with Bill once they become counselors. There is a reason why so many campers want to be on Bill's "T-Staff".

Bill can also be seen all around camp helping at BBQ's and many all-camp activities, of course most notably judging the Color War Tug-of-War. He is an integral member of the Tyler Hill family who continues to be vital to Tyler Hill's success.
